I lay beside my daughter one night
As silent tears fell.
And held her until she fell asleep.
She whispered her pain to the night air.
And she believed that you heard her.
She believed you were near.
And that is how we function now.
Trusting God had a better plan that we could see.
Trusting that the pain we feel will fade someday.
Some days it hurts to breath
And others are just okay.
The world is different now without you in it.
And that sadness is now a part of our story.
That is the risk we take in loving others.
But what else can we do but love?
I’m glad we got to know your kind of love.
The unconditional, defend-you-at-all-costs kind of love.
I’m glad I can say with all confidence,
I see your smile so bright with heaven’s glow as God holds you, dear.
I will see you again. Trust we will see you again.
Until then Ceil, keep dancing your dance. Keep smiling your smile
As you look down from above on these people whom you love.
***We celebrate you today, Priscilla E. Tillman. Always remembering you with gladness and fond memories. Happy birthday to you!
