It has been some time since I’ve posted a Personal Moment piece here on A Stoic Life blog. What can I say other than Life Happens! What do I mean by that? Simply that there are so many variables outside of our control that sometimes even our very best intentions are tossed out the window. They get sidelined for catastrophes, family emergencies, illness, or even the passing of a loved one. All we can do is stop what we are doing, adjust to the situation, and reevaluate our plans.
Here I am
This is where you find me. After enduring a summer of trying to keep the kids entertained and cultivated, all the while still building my brand, starting a new part-time job, and seeing an increase in freelance writing opportunities; things started falling off my list one after the other. It’s the last quarter of the year. There are so many goals I planned to accomplish in 2016. Eeekkk!!
But, it’s not over ’til it’s over. Nevermind that the last three months were spent in a state of flux adjusting to one wrench or another unforeseen event. It’s fall, which means back to school for kids, and back to business for mom!
Remember this bad boy?! I posted this at the beginning of 2016. It’s always a good idea to keep your dreams (your overall vision for your life) in front of you. I am all for being intentional about your life. How you live it? What is your purpose? And what are your priorities? Does what you are doing daily allow you to live optimally? Are you living out your purpose?
If these questions throw you, like are you kidding me, I’m just trying to make it through the day. It’s necessary for you to find a way to be still. Start in prayer asking God for his direction for your life. Once you have the clarity that comes from the God perspective, you can confidently move toward your life’s calling.
When I look at this list now, I am amazed to see how far I’ve come. When I wrote these down, I thought it would take years to accomplish. But looking at it now all that’s left to be had is the realization of being a NY Times bestselling author. 😮
An Intentional Life
God is so good. Now, I realize that I am living each day fully. I have His love, joy, peace, and prosperity. I work from home, which keeps my family as top priority. I write and sing for God’s glory. And through this blog, I am able to reach people all over the world providing encouragement.
I put Him first and all other things fell into place. I was out of alignment struggling to find a meaning in my life. When all I needed to do was make God number one priority. In doing so, my life was forever changed for the better!
In this last quarter of 2016, I will see my goals realized. I will see my blog readership and newsletter subscribers increase into the thousands. I will make consistent passive income from my blog and other means. I will publish my first book. I will continue to develop and produce Mercy Over Judgment as a visually appealing YouTube show that helps and encourages mothers. 4th quarter 2016 will be the best one yet!
I’ve set my course. My intent is clear. I’ve sowed seeds of hope and faith. Now, it’s time to reap the fruits of my labor. For His glory and not mine. Now to get going. I’m done trying… It’s time to do.
