I apologize for the delay in posting. I had some internet connectivity issues. But here it is. I want to keep in line with the overall motivation to be a better person in 2016 than I was in previous years. Last month I focused on love. For the month of March, I’ll focus on confidence. Confidence is key to living life to the fullest. For me, my confidence increases as I grow ever more confident in God’s love. Learning how faithful God is through life experiences, increases my faith in Him and in proportion my self confidence.
After spending most of my life living fearfully and with rampant insecurities I realized that’s no way to live. It is limiting. It prevented me from making new friends, and from having a host a varied experiences. Too scared to put myself out there or constantly comparing myself to others and determining myself less than and therefore not good enough. See it started with me. My self perception. People didn’t reject me, I’d already rejected myself which led to outcast behavior.
But as I learn and incorporate the way God sees me. That I am already approved, and he created me exactly as I am, flaws and all. I began to accept myself, and no longer needed others to validate me. He says of me that I am wonderfully made. He’s called me by name. There’s no accident in mine or your creation stories. You like me were created on purpose for a purpose.
So you see, confidence comes from knowing who you are and accepting yourself right where you are. Yes, there’s always room for improvement but not self rejection. Now, let’s try to get our behavior in line with our thinking. I’ll be researching (as I am a constant learner and avid reader) actions of confident people as well as what the bible says about confidence. This post’s title is borrowed from the book I’m reading The Confidence Code: The Science and Art of Self-Assurance—What Women Should Know. I’ll share insightful information from this and other sources about how we can be more confident in who we are and how we can live life in a self-assured way.
