Clear as day…
But not really;
I don’t know how I know.
I just do.
It is You who’ve called me.
Through eternity You’ve seen me.
And still, I’m undone.
Your plan all along
To rescue this sinner from the grave
Though destined for death; a corpse shell I saw.
You rewrote my story.
You imprinted Your law.
You look at me through eyes of love.
Seeing what I could do.
Not the shame wrought from what I’ve done.
No, not murder, but sin is sin.
Why measure or compare?
When all sin separates,
All sin draws a dividing line that keeps us away
From the God who already knows what we did.
He knew we would do it before we even did.
And loved us anyway;
“Come to me now,” He says. “While there is still time,”
“I will cleanse. I will wash away. I will heal.”
“I will restore those broken places in you that no one knew.”
“I love you, my child. Repent and come to me.”
